PURPOSE:To accurately position a rotating device, by constituting the rotating device with a braking member, a brake releasing drive device, a gripping member, slight rectilinear movement control devices and a support member between a wall member and the gripping member. CONSTITUTION:A rotating device comprises a high speed rotation drive device 6 for driving a rotating body 1, a braking member 10 holding the braking condition of the rotating body 1, a brake releasing drive device 20 for controlling brake, a gripping member 30 pivotally supported to a shaft 3 and a slight rectilinear movement control devices 50, 51 at the base of the gripping member 30. A support member 60 having wall members 61, 62 is disposed in the gripping member 30 so that the motions of the slight rectilinear movement control devices 50, 51 are constrained. Therefore, both rough positioning and accurate positioning are simultaneously realized on one and the same rotating body so that a high speed and high resolution characteristic may be obtained, thereby the device having a simple and lightweight structure may be fabricated at a low cost in a small size. |
