FORMATION OF TRANSPARENT THIN FILM HAVING MOISTURE-PROOFING EFFECT

PURPOSE:To form a transparent thin film having a significant moistureproof effect and flexibility by evaporating metallic magnesium by heating in a vacuum vessel while introducing gaseous oxygen and steam to form a transparent thin film on a transparent substrate by vapor deposition. CONSTITUTION:Metallic magnesium is evaporated by heating in a vaccum vessel while introducing gaseous oxygen and steam to form a transparent thin film consisting of magnesium oxide and magnesium hydroxide on a transparent substrate of PVC or the like by vapor deposition. The transparent thin film has a moistureproofing effect, flexibility and high adhesive strength. When a flexible sheet or film is used as said substrate, a moistureproof packing material through which the contents can be seen because of its transparency can be obtd.
