摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent a backfire from occurring, by making a modified gas spout to the inside of a manifold at a time when a crank angle comes to the specified one after a suction valve is opened. CONSTITUTION:A device bearing the above caption adjusts a supply rate between a modified gas made up of modifying liquid fuel such as alcohol or the like into such gas comprising much of hydrogen and carbon monoxide and unmodified liquid fuel according to an engine's operation state. In this case, it is provided with an angle detecting device 31 detecting an engine's crank angle and a modified gas injection device 33 spouting this modified gas to a suction passage at the upstream side of a suction valve. When the crank angle comes to the specified one, for example, a range of 14 deg. after the suction valve is opened, the device controls it to output a driving signal to the said injection device 33 from an injection controlling device 48. At this time, an injection period of the modified gas out of the injection device 33 is found out of operation in conformity with output of an engine state detecting device 30.
