PURPOSE:To prevent the polymerization in preparation, storage and reaction of a fluorine-containing acrylic acid or a derivativae thereof and improve the yield thereof, by the presence of a tertiary amine therewith. CONSTITUTION:A tertiary amine (for example either one of an aliphatic and aromatic tertiary amines and further a cyclic amine may be used, and specific examples include trimethylamine, dimethylethylamine, benzyldimethylamine, etc.) is present in a fluorine-containing acrylic acid or a derivative thereof expressed by formula I (R is halogen, hydroxyl group or lower alkoxyl) to prevsnt the polymerization of the compound expressed by formula I . For example, the tertiary amine is present respectivaely in the following cases. (1) Bromine is added to the compound expressed by formula I to prepare a compound expressed by formula II. (2) The compound expressed by formula I is stored. (3) A compound expressed by formula III is reacted with an alcohol to synthesize the compound expressed by formula I .
