PURPOSE:To produce easily an optical recording medium with an easy recording method and to improve the quality of reproduced information, by providing a half mirror layer having >=10% reflection factor and >=50% transmission factor between a transparent supporter and a recording layer containing an organic coloring material. CONSTITUTION:A transparent supporter has no special limitation for its material as long as it uses a sheet or film shape transparent to the light for record and reproduction and also a reflection or record layer can be formed thereon. An organic coloring material has a function to absorb the recording laser light and converts it into heat energy and has the maximum absorbing value at the 600-1,200nm wavelength areas. It is deisrable to use the binder resin together with an organic coloring material. A half mirror layer is provided between the transparent supporter and th recording layer, and the focusing control, etc. are carried out with a part of the light reflected by the half mirror layer. While the recording is carried out with the greater part of the light passing through the half mirror layer. The reflection factor of the half mirror layer is set at >=10% and preferably at >=15% together with the transmission factor set at >=50% and preferably at >=60% respectively. |
