PURPOSE:The titled accelerator which can retain an excellent bonding force, etc., even in a high-temperature, high-humidity condition, comprising a specified organocobalt boron metallic soap. CONSTITUTION:A mixed carboxylic acid Co salt of formula I (wherein X is a lower monocarboxylic acid group, Y1-3 are each a resin acid group, naphthenic acid group or a 7-11C aliphatic monocarboxyic acid group, proided that the case in which Y1-3 are 7-11C aliphatic monocarboxylic acid groups at the same time is excluded) is reacted with an organoboron compound of the formula: (ZO)3B (wherein Z is a lower alkyl or an aryl) at 100-250 deg.C and a volatile ester of the formula: ZX, produced as a by-product, is distilled off to obtain a rubber to steel cord bonding accelerator comprising an organocobalt boron metallic soap. 100pts.wt. rubber is kneaded with 0.5-10pts.wt. above bonding accelerator, a vulcanizing agent, vulcanization accelerator, antioxidant, carbon black, etc. |
