PURPOSE:To provide a polycarbonate resin having excellent flow characteristics during molding and chemical resistance without detriment to mechanical characteristics inherent to the polycarbonate resin, by blending cellulose or a cellulose derivative with a polycarbonate resin. CONSTITUTION:65-1wt% cellulose or cellulose derivative is blended with 35- 99wt% polycarbonate resin. If desired, an inorg. filler, a colorant, other additives or other synthetic resin or elastomer may be blended with the compsn. Polycarbonate resins having a viscosity-average MW of 20,000-40,000 are preferred from the viewpoints of mechanical strength and moldability. When the quantity of cellulose or the cellulose derivative to be blended is less than 1wt%, satisfactory flow characteristics and chemical resistance can not be imparted, while when the quantity exceeds 65wt%, heat resistance is lowered. |
