The process consists of feeding additional warp yarns into the angular positions of the cylinder corresponding to the mesh interstices in the fabric being formed; effecting a pair of weft yarn feeders to the needles in a radially external position to the generally cylindrical surface which includes the additional warp yarns, and a pair of weft yarn feeders to the needles in a radially internal position to the generally cylindrical surface which includes the additive warp yarns, and displacing the weft knitting yarns around the needle cylinder and the additional warp yarns radially with respect to the cylinder.
