PURPOSE:To make it possible to increase a printing speed, in the printer of a personal computer, by performing the printing of one line in a state divided into two stages at every plural dots by printing heads laterally arranged in a double line. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of lines of printing heads 16..., 17... are laterally provided to a head carriage 15 in a double line in parallel in opposed relation to a platen 11 so as to provide equal intervals S therebetween in a printing line direction and a predetermined printing line interval (l) between the printing head lines. At first, a plurality dots of the characters of one line are printed by the pins 161 of the front stage printing heads 16... in a paper feed direction and, subsequently, paper A is fed and the residual dots are printed by the pins 171 of the rear stage printing heads 17... and, by this method, the characters or figures of one line are printed by the printing heads 16..., 17... arranged in a double line and a printing speed can be increased. |
