PURPOSE:To obtain a conversion catalyst for CO having high activity at low temp., and superior heat resistance and sulfur resistance by calcining a mixture contg. hydroxides of Fe, Ni, and Cr, admixed, if necessary, with a K compd. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst compsn. contg. Fe, Ni, and Cr is prepd. coprecipitating a mixture contg. hydroxides of Fe, Ni, and Cr by mixing an acidic aq. soln. contg. each water-soluble compds. of Fe, Ni, and Cr with an alkaline soln. of the same compds., washing obtd. cake of the precipitate, admixing, if necessary, a K compd. to the cake, and calcining the product at 500-700 deg.C for 1-8hr in the air. The catalyst compsn. may be also crushed and dispersed to be supported on a corrugated honeycomb carrier comprising inorg. heat resistant fiber. The catalyst prepd. by this method has high activity at low temp., and superior heat resistance and sulfur resistance; moreover, the pressure drop in the reaction layer is small and blockage of the reaction layer is scarcely caused. |
