PURPOSE:To set fixation temperature so that images are fixed stably by measuring the weight of a body to be copied before the object body enters a fixing device and controlling the set temperature of the fixing device on the basis of the measurement result. CONSTITUTION:The light beam from the light emitting device 4-1 to the photodetector 4-2 of an entry detector 4 is cut off right before a recording form P is fed and its front end enters the 1st paper feed roller 6, and the entry detector 4 operates to place a loop height detector 5 in detecting operation for a specific time. When the loop 8 of the recording form P cuts off the light beam from the light emitting device 5-1 to the photodetector 5-2 of the loop height detector 5 within the specific time, a fixation temperature controller 3 sends a signal so that the set temperature of the fixing device 2 is held at the current temperature. When the loop 8 of the recording form 8 is not detected, a signal for raising the set temperature of the fixing device 2 is outputted. Thus, the height of the loop 8 of the recording form P is detected to decide on the weight of the recording form P and the set temperature of the fixing device 2 is set according to the weight. Consequently, stable fixation is performed for a body of any paper kind to be copied. |
