PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive material having high sensitivity and superior color reproducibility by forming two emulsion layers having different color sensitivities and by interposing a layer contg. silver halide particles which are not turned into silver particles when the resulting photosensitive material is developed. CONSTITUTION:AT least two emulsion layers having different color sensitivies are formed on a base, and at least one kind of compound capable of releasing a fogging agent, a precursor thereof, a development accelerator or a precursor thereof during development in accordance with the amount of developed silver is incorporated into one ofphotosensitive layers including said emulsion layer. A layer contg. silver halide particles which are not practically turned into silver particles when the resulting photosensitive material is developed is interposed between said two emulsion layers.
