The invention relates to pipe fitting members. The regulating valve forming the subject of the invention is particularly characterised in that the areas of transverse section, perpendicular to the axis 2 of the rods 13, of the valve 10 and of each of the rods 13 are equal to one other, in that the ends 16 of the valve 10 and the ends 17, connected to the said ends 16, of the rods 13 have surfaces with a profiled end 18, 19 directed towards one another and designed so that, during the reciprocating movement of the valve 10, the solid particles of the fluid to be transported may, inside the body 1, pass from the space partially occupied by the valve 10 into the space freed by the rod 13 next to the said valve.
