Nuclear power plant which includes an apparatus for superheating steam which is provided from two arrays of inclined tubes which extend upwards from an outlet manifold to respective inlet manifolds. The arrays of tubes are arranged in the path of the principal vapour flow through the apparatus and provide a vapour flow for additional superheating of the principal vapour. Preferably, the tubes extend upwards to closed ends such that a lower manifold acts both as vapour inlet and as condensate outlet. Likewise, a vapour generator heated by fossil fuel provides vapour for superheating the principal vapour which has been provided by a nuclear vapour generator.
