The filter contains a vertical housing (1) with feed and discharge connecting pipes (4 and 6, respectively). Coaxial with the housing (1) is a tube (5) which is provided with perforated funnel-shaped gratings (12 and 13) with a filter filling material (21) inside each pair of gratings (12, 13). Between every two pairs of gratings (12, 13) there are funnel-shaped partitions (7) which divide the housing (1) up into sections (8). Each section (8) has sloping openings (11) in the tube (5) and there is a hopper (2) in the lower part of the housing. As a result of this arrangement of sections, a high capacity is achieved. If the filter filling material is composed, for example, of filament sections whose ends are attached to the gratings, a high operational reliability is achieved since, if the filter filling material becomes blocked with dust, the gratings are moved apart and the dust is easily removed through the gaps between the rows of filaments. The filter has a low flow resistance, which can be regulated by changing the compaction of the filter filling material. The filter can readily be regenerated and the dust accumulation can be drawn off through central openings in the funnel-shaped sections. <IMAGE>
