PURPOSE:To enhance flexibility in editing a document without causing troubles in operation, by providing a margin position changing means and a means for inhibiting the change of the margin position, in a word-processor which displays a one-line amount of information. CONSTITUTION:To change a left-hand margin (LHM) position, an LHM key is depressed. The LHM key is effective only when a cursor is located at the head of a line, and an LHM code is transferred to a display buffer 306 through a memory 40. Next, when numerical data indicative of a new LHM position are inputted through numeral keys, the data are similarly transferred to the display buffer 306. When a CR key is depressed and a CR code is detected by a data discriminating and controlling logical circuit 312, the numerical data indicative of the new LHM position are stored into an LHM buffer register 332, and the cursor is located at a position for indicating the new LHM position. |
