摘要 PURPOSE:To enable the capacity of a pulse width converting ROM to be reduced, by a method wherein heating resistors are driven synchronously with a timing signal having a fixed period, the recording period is detected stepwise by counting the number of the timing signals, and the width of a recording pulse is thereby controlled. CONSTITUTION:Serially inputted recording data DATA are taken into a shift register 25 by a data-transferring CLK, and a trigger signal TRG for recording is inputted. Immediately thereafter, a timing pulse TiM is outputted from a synchronizing circuit 30 as a recording-synchronizing signal SYNC, and the counted value in a counter 28 at that time corresponds to the lapse or time from the preceding SYNC, namely, the recording period. Recording pulse width data are outputted from a pulse width converting circuit 27, are taken into a recording pulse generating circuit 26 at the moment the SYNC is outputted, and are sequentially outputted, while the counter 28 is reset to restart counting. Then, thermal recording is conducted through gate groups 24a, 24b during when recording pulses Pa, Pb are outputted. Accordingly, the capacity of the ROM can be reduced, quantization errors are prevented from being generated, and recording is conducted with a uniform recorded density.
