Monitoring apparatus for determining and displaying the aiming error when aiming and firing at moving targets

When using the barrage-firing method with optically aimed weapons against moving targets, any shot in a series can become a hit. Since this shot is not known in advance, the aiming errors are determined using the previously normal monitoring and training apparatuses for a shot which is defined by convention, generally the centre shot in a series. However, these aiming errors do not correspond to those aiming errors which produce correct correction reactions thereto in the training of gunlayers. In contrast, the object of the present invention is to detect those aiming errors which cause the gunlayer to produce correct correction reactions on the gun and which are therefore relevant in training. In the monitoring apparatuses according to the invention, the gun aiming elements are for this purpose temporarily stored in a computer in order to be called up at the point in time when two aiming values are detected in a comparator (4) as being equal and are joined together with the aiming values of the target surveying apparatus (1) and are processed in accordance with a computer program which is stored in the computer (3). The aiming errors calculated in this manner are then displayed (5) visually and recorded (6) in a known manner. <IMAGE>
