METHOD FOR DRIVING INDUCED DRAFT FAN OF DEVICE FOR TREATING CONVERTER WASTE GAS

PURPOSE:To eliminate wasteful consumption of steam by supplying steam to a turbine for driving an induced draft fan in synchronization with the converter operating stage. CONSTITUTION:A device for treating a converter waste gas recovers the waste gas generated from a converter 1 after cooling the same in a cooler 4 and removing dust therefrom. A fan 7 which induces the gas generated from the converter 1 to the device for treating the waste gas is driven by a steam turbine. Steam is generated in a blowing stage and is once stored in a steam reservoir 12. The stored steam is conducted to a steam turbine 13 for driving the induced draft fan only in the blowing stage and the steam is generated during the blowing while the fan 7 is driven to store the steam for driving the induced draft fan in the succeeding blowing stage. The steam supply to the turbine 13 is limited to an application for holding the temp. of the turbine during non-blowing to decrease the amt. of the steam to be used and to store the steam in the reservoir 12 at all times.
