PURPOSE:To make it possible to arbitrarily select the mounting posture of the titled burner in a range of 90 deg. between the sideward posture of the exhaust pipe and the downward posture by mounting the exhaust pipe in the tangential direction of the outer wall portion of an annular combustion gas passage. CONSTITUTION:In the horizontal type liquid fuel burner used in a hot air heater for use in a vehicle or the like, the exhaust pipe 14 is mounted at a portion on the outer wall 7 of the annular combustion gas passage 5, which portion includes the tangent of the inner peripheral surface of the outer wall 7, and is located closer to the centerline of the annular combustion chamber 5 than the tangent. In the case shown in the drawing, a slight quantity of unburnt gas is accumulated at a portion as indicated by reference numeral 20 but there is no actual trouble. In a posture rotated by 90 deg. in the clockwise direction from the above posture, the unburnt fuel is completely exhausted through the exhaust pipe 14. Consequently, it is made possible to arbitarily select the mounting posture of the burner in a range of 90 deg. between the posture where the centerline of the exhaust pipe 14 becomes horizontal and the posture where the exhaust pipe 14 opens downwardly.
