PURPOSE:To improve the work efficiency without leaving any unmachined portions in the center area by dividing straight lines, which connected the center of gravity of an area to the vertexes of the area, into the prescribed number and by moving a cutting tool along each closed path connecting those division points with the distance between the closed paths being changed according to their shapes. CONSTITUTION:In a processor, after a center of gravity W of an area is obtained, when lines L1-L10 connecting the center of gravity W to vertexes P1- P10 of the ara do not intersect an off-set curve OFC, the lines L1-L10 are divided into the prescribed division number n; the coordinate values of these division points Pa1-Pn1...Pa10-Pn10 are obtained and stored in RAM. Next, plural closed paths CPT1-CPTn are formed by connecting these division points Pa1- Pa10...Pn1-Pn10, and the processor shifts a cutting tool to a point Pa2 along the 1st closed path CPT1, and thus the cutting operation is performed along the path CPTn in succession. In this way, by moving the cutting tool along the curve OFC in accordance with the data specifying the off-set curve OFC stored in RAM, the area machining process can be finished in a short time without leaving any portions unmachined.
