A hole is made in the tree and the herbicide is put in a recess in the plug. The plug is then introduced into the open end of the hole. It is then knocked in to achieve a tight fit in the hole. The herbicide is thus protected from the environment outside of the tree but is taken up in the nap. Pref. the plug dimensions are such that after application, the plug has a tight fit in the hole. |
