Unauthorised removal of articles such as video recorders is obviated or minimised by providing a set of tracks 1 which are fixed to a relatively immovable object such as a piece of furniture and a set of runners 10 removably engaged in the tracks to be held there by the combination of the shapes of the tracks and the runners and by fixing locking devices to the tracks after the runners have been engaged with the tracks.
