PURPOSE:To obtain an image-forming device in which a transfer material can be easily replaced and a thermal head can be easily cleaned, by a construction wherein a transfer material is enclosed in a cassette, and the cassette can be replaced by a cleaning member, in an image-forming device using a transfer material. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer ribbon 15 is provided with ink parts 21a-21d the size of each of which is approximately equal to that of a paper P, the ribbon 15 is wound around two winding cores 31, 32 in the cassette 14, and is enclosed in a casing 33 with a part thereof exposed so that an intermediate part thereof is intermediately located between a platen 10 and a thermal head 11. The cassette 14 is provided with a slit 34, and is fitted by engaging the slit 34 to a holder 12 provided in the head 11. After fitting, a driving force of a motor is transmitted to the winding cores 31, 32, thereby feeding the ribbon. When cleaning the head, the cassette 14 is detached, the ribbon 15 wound around the winding cores 31, 32 is replaced by a cleaning member, the cassette 14 is fitted, and the cleaning member is fed while pressing the head 11 against the member. |
