PURPOSE:To provide a flame-retardant compsn. having excellent moldability and resistance to heat and oils, containing a polyphenylene ether resin, a polyamide, a copolymer of an alpha,beta-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid with a specified compd. and a halogenated polystyrene. CONSTITUTION:3-40pts.wt. halogenated polystyrene obtd. by polymerizing a monomer of the formula (wherein R is H, lower alkyl, halogen, halogenated lower alkyl; X1-X5 are each vinyl, halogen, H, lower halo alkyl, lower alkyl; at least one of X1-X5 is halogen) and 0-20pts.wt. antimony-contg. compd. are added to 100pts.wt. resin compsn. consisting of 20-70pts.wt. polyphenylene ether resin (a), 0-60pts.wt. polystyrene (b) 5-70pts.wt. polyamide (c) and 3-40pts.wt. copolymer (d) of styrene and an alpha,beta-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid anhydride and/or an alpha,beta-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid imide. |
