<p>PURPOSE:To reduce remarkably a part of waste material by detecting the change of sheet thickness at the tail end of a coil by a thickness meter and detecting accurately a stop position. CONSTITUTION:A material to be rolled, delivered from a reel 1, runs rightward while passing a mill 6 through a thickness meter 13. A stop position stored in the preceding pass is used this time in the calculation for outputting a speed reduction command, and the number of winds of reel 1 is detected by a pulse oscillator to compare it with a previously set value n1 by a comparator 31. When a speed-reduction point is detected, a command of speed-reduction rate is inputted to motor-control commanding devices 110, 113 so as to start the speed reduction toward the stop point at a set speed-reduction rate. The change of sheet thickness is detected by the meter 13 even while the speed reduction is performed to discriminate the tail end of coil based on the sheet thickness by a comparator 42, thereby outputting commands to motor-control device 111, 112 from an output device 9 to stop the running by calculating a proper speed-reduction rate by a computor 32.</p> |
