Novel substituted N-3-(5-trifluoromethyl-2-pyridyloxy)phenyl-N'-benzoylthioureas of the formula <IMAGE> in which R1 denotes hydrogen or halogen; R2 denotes halogen; R3 denotes hydrogen, chlorine, bromine or methyl; and R4 denotes hydrogen or chlorine; processes for the preparation of these compounds and compositions containing them for use in combating pests, in particular for combating insects and representatives of the order Acarina which infest plants and animals. The novel compounds have especially high larvicidal activity against insects which are injurious to plants.
