PURPOSE:To display an image signal holding a special format on a standard television system monitor by providing a pair of a memories and performing write/ read by switching every field. CONSTITUTION:At a timing of reproducing an image signal from a head 3A, a switch circuit 16 is switched to the head side; a switch circuit 23 is switched to a head B; the reproduced image signal is written in a memory 17 on the head A side at a high speed, when an image signal read out from a memory 18 on the head B side at a low speed is sent out as an output V0. In the following one field section, the switch circuits 16 and 23 are switched, which causes the image signal reproduced by the head B to be written in the memory 18 at a high speed and an image signal to be read out from a memory 17 at a low speed.
