PURPOSE:To secure the road clearance of a rear-wheel driving shaft, by making a device so as to distribute power directly to both front and rear wheels from a driving device via a hollow shaft, a pinion shaft, a pinion gear and a side gear, in case of a power transfer device for a four-wheel drive car. CONSTITUTION:The input received by a hollow shaft 1 is distributed to a front- wheel driving shaft 15 on one side via a pinion shaft 9, a pinion gear 11 and each of side gears 13a and 13b as well as to an unillustrated rear-wheel driving shaft on the other via a differential case 25, a driving gear 27, an unillustrated input gear, whereby power is distributed to both front and rear wheels. A rotation difference between front and rear wheels is shown as the difference between side gears 13a and 13b but it is absorbed with rotation of the pinion shaft 11. And, an output side 1a of the hollow shaft 1, the pinion gear 11, the pinion shaft 9 and these side gears 13a and 13b are all assembled to the differential case 25 as a subassembly. With this constitution, the road clearance of the rear-wheel driving shaft is securable.
