PURPOSE:To prevent slippage in a mechanism where an input wheel and a driven wheel are divided into plural parts and a belt is stretched between the wheels by forming concave and convex portions by fixed pitches on the contact surfaces of the belt with the wheels. CONSTITUTION:An input wheel 2 and a driven wheel 4 are divided into plural parts, and the respective divided pieces are capable of moving in the direction orthogonal to the axis in such a manner as to be always on the same periphery centering around the axes of the input shaft 1 and the driven shaft 3. A belt 5 is extended between the input wheel 2 and the driven wheel 4, and the contact surfaces of the belt 5 with the input wheel 2 and the driven wheel 4 are provided with concave and convex portions formed thereon by fixed pitches to engage with each other. The wheels are coupled to each other in such a manner that on turning a handle not shown, one wheel increases in diameter, while the other decreases in diameter. Thus, the transmission rotational frequency is varied.
