A hinge for the cover 1 of a luggage boot comprises at least two links 6, 9 pivoted at their extremities to a fixed plate 4 on the wall of the boot and to a support member 3 secured to the cover, and a spring-loaded stop link 10 pivoted at 17 to the link 6 and carrying a roller 14 adapted to travel along the edge of the plate 4 and to enter slots 4<SP>1</SP>, 4<SP>2</SP> therein to retain the cover in the open and closed positions. The link 6 comprises two plates 6<SP>1</SP>, 6<SP>2</SP> between which is pivoted the link 10 which also consists of two plates 10<SP>1</SP>, 10<SP>2</SP> joined by a stop plate 10<SP>3</SP> against which one end 15<SP>1</SP> of the biasing spring 15 abuts. The other end of the spring engages one of a series of slots 16 (not shown) in the link 6 to adjust the spring tension. |
