PURPOSE:To obtain a photomagnetic recording medium having a less decrease in S/N in the stage of reading out by laminating and forming a vertical magnetic anisotropic film for an antiferromagnetic material having the Neel temp. higher than the Curie temp. on a substrate by using a thin amorphous rare earth-transition metal alloy film. CONSTITUTION:A thin amorphous rare earth-transition metal alloy film 3 consisting of Dy-Fe, Tb-Te, etc. is formed on a thin antiferromagnetic material film 2 consisting of NiO (242 deg.C Neel temp.), alpha-Fe2O3 (677 deg.C Neel temp.), etc. having the Neel temp. higher than the Curie temp. of said thin alloy film. The film 2 on a substrate 1 is formed to 500-5,000Angstrom thickness and the film 3 to 300- 500Angstrom . The magnetic film is thus formed in such a way that the film 3 of the 2nd layer does not lose the ferri-magnetism as far as the antimagnetism of the film 2 of the 1st layer is not lost. The high-density vertical magnetic recording medium which prevents a decrease in S/N in the stage of reading out is prevented even at the Curie point to lose the ferri-magnetism in the case of having independently the film 3 of the 2nd layer on the substrate is obtd. |
