PURPOSE:To remove easily roll marks and to make the surface roughness of a rolling material uniform by holding the rolling material between rolling rolls, having mutually different peripheral speeds, for rolling the material. CONSTITUTION:A rolling material S is rolled while controlling its shape by respective sectional rolls 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, when it passes between upper and lower work rolls 7, 8. At that time, respective sectional rolls 2-6 produce roll marks in an intermediate roll 9, the lower work roll 8, and a backup roll 10, and transfer the roll marks to the surface of material S through the roll 7, and the roll marks of roll 8 are transferred to the back of material S. The material S is advanced to the right side by a pair of rolling rolls 11, 12, and the surface and back of the material S are rolled while being rubbed by respective rolls 11, 12 because of the different peripheral speeds V1, V2 of rolls 11, 12. Accordingly, the roll marks transferred to both surfaces of material S are removed. |
