PURPOSE:To control the supply amount of air to a painting chamber without loss, by providing a shielding member for regulating the passing area of conditioned air to the filter arranged in the side of the automatic painting region of the painting chamber and providing an air flow velocity sensor to the downsteam side of the filter. CONSTITUTION:At the time of painting of an article to be painted, air conditioned to predetermined temp. and humidity is supplied to a painting chamber 3 from an air supply chamber 2 through a filter 5. In this case, a shielding member 23 is arranged to the filter 5 in the side of the automatic painting region A of the painting chamber 3 and a part of conditioned air supplied to the air supply chamber 2 is blocked in the side of the automatic painting region A by the shielding member 23 and, as a result, conditioned air is supplied to the side of a manual painting region B in an increased amount. At this time, an air flow velocity of conditioned air is measured in the side of the automatic painting region A by an air flow velocity sensor 25 and the measured value is inputted to a controller 26 and, if there is difference between said value and a set value, an air supply fan 9 is driven to hold a predetermined supply amount.
