The humidified air generated by the main body of the humidifier 4 is supplied through the spraying port 3 to the perishable food 1, etc., contained in the container 2. The perishable food 1 can be maintained constantly in a humidified state to prevent the evaporation of water from the surface of the food. Accordingly, the freshness and appearance of the perishable food can be maintained for a long period simply by putting the unpacked food in a container without packaing the perishable food with a polyethylene bag, etc. The material and time for packaging can be saved by this process.
