PHOTOSENSITIVE SILVER HALIDE COLOR PHOTOGRAPHIC MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To improve sharpness by providing a layer contg. a diffusion resistant chromatic compd. in combination with a photosensitive coloring layer and erasing the resultant product of reaction between such compd. and developing agent oxide from a hue constitution system during the developing process thereby forming an unsharp mask image. CONSTITUTION:The layer contg. the diffusion resistant coupler and the layer contg. the diffusion resistant chromatic compd. reacting with the oxidant of the developing agent are provided in combination with a photosensitive silver halide emulsion. The hue of the diffusion resistant chromatic compd. is made the same as the coloring hue of the above-mentioned diffusion resistant coupler. The resultant product of the reaction between said compd. and the oxidant of the developing agent is made colorless or eluted from the photographic material during the developing process and is thereby erased from the hue constitution system. The diffusion resistant chromatic compd. remains unreated in the area where the color image by the coupler is not formed. The color image and the color image having the inverse relation with the compd. thereof, i.e., a negative image for the former and a positive image for the latter are thus formed to the coupler. The compd. forms the unsharp mask as the oxidant of the developing agent from the layer contg. the coupler arrives at the layer contg. said compd. by adequate diffusion.
