PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity, storage stability, etc., by color sensitizing a silver halide emulsion with a spectrally sensitizing dye high in oxidation potential and incorporating a compd. releasing a fogging agent or a development accelerator at the time of development in a photographic layer. CONSTITUTION:A silver halide emulsion contained in a silver halide emulsion layer formed on a support is color sensitized with a spectrally sensitizing dye having an oxidation potential higher than 0.7V. Said dye is embodied by formulae I , II, etc. An intended silver halide photosensitive material is obtained by incorporating a fogging agent or a development accelerator or their precursors in this silver halide emulsion layer or another hydrophilic colloidal layer in an amt. corresponding to development silver amt. These compd. are embodied by formulae III, IV, etc. |
