<p>In a method of producing sintered material, e.g. white cement clinker, wherein raw meal is preheated, calcined, burned or roasted to sintered material, and finally cooled, raw meal is fed as a cooling medium to the sintered material at the cooling stage. A plant for carrying out the method comprises cyclone preheaters 1, 1'; a calciner 7; a burning kiln 5 and a two-stage cooler 13, 14. The raw meal as coolant enters rotary tube pre-cooler 13 via feed 15 and emerges therefrom with sintered material into exhaust duct 31 of the axial cooler 14 provided with air blowers 35. In duct 31 separation of the sintered material and raw meal from the pre-cooler 13 is achieved, with the aid of variable constriction 19, the raw meal passing to calciner 7. <IMAGE></p> |
