PURPOSE:To enable reliable correction of skew, by a method wherein a holding member having a pair of curved guide plates which form a curved conveyance passage is located in a direction extending across the conveyance passage and rotatably around a central pivotally-securing part, and according to skew-detecting results, rotational control is effected. CONSTITUTION:In a document conveyance passage through which a sheet is fed from a cassette by means of a separate roller part, a skew detecting part and a skew correcting part 23 are located down the passage from the separate roller part. The skew detecting part has 2 pair of skew sensors aligned in a direction extending vertically to a conveying direction, and is capable of detecting skew of documents A being different in size. A skew correcting part 23 is constituted such that inner and outer guide plates 56 and 57 in a circular arc are mounted at a given interval to the conveyance passage side of a holding member 53 rotatably supported at its central part through a support rod 51, and according to an output from said sensor, either of solenoids 67-70 mounted in response to the size of a document is energized to rock the holding member 53, and this corrects skew. |
