PURPOSE:To alloy copying operation only when variable power rate is less than a specific value by stopping the operation of an optical system only when reduction magnification or enlargement magnification exceeds the specific value. CONSTITUTION:The calculated variable magnification of a copying machine is compared by a comparing circuit with previously inputted specific magnification which determined a normal use range, and information indicating whether the variable magnification is within the range of the specific magnification is outputted to a CPU. The CPU inhibits the copying operation even when a copy button is pressed unless the variable magnification is within the specific magnification range. In this case, the CPU attracts operator's attention through a display part provided to the copying machine. Consequently, the copying operation is permitted only when the variable power rate is only within the specific magnification range. |
