PRODUCTION OF LIGHT-DIFFUSING METHACRYLATE RESIN PLATE

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled resin plate having a high total transmittance, by pouring a polymerizable composition comprising methyl methacrylate and a polyalkyl (meth)acrylate into a mold and polymerizing it therein in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator. CONSTITUTION:65-95wt% (A) methyl methacrylate or polymerizable unsaturated monomer mixture containing at least 70wt% methyl methacrylate is mixed with 35-5wt% polymer having an limiting viscosity number >=0.05l/g and a refractive index nB satisfying the relationship of formula I or II (wherein nA is the refractive index of a polymer obtained by polymerizing component A) and obtained from a polymerizable unsaturated monomer of formula III (wherein R1 is H or methyl and R2 is a 2C or higher hydrocarbon or the like) or a polymerizable unsaturated monomer mixture containing at least 50wt% this polymerizable unsaturated monomer. The obrained polymerizable composition is poured into a mold and polymerized in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator to obtain the titled resin plate.
