PURPOSE:To produce the titled compound useful as an intermediate of synthetic resin, plasticizer, perfumery, etc., at a low cost, by reacting a ketone with acrylic acid or its derivative in the presence of ammonia water and a protonic acid. CONSTITUTION:The titled compound of formula II (X is nitrile, carboxyl, etc.) (e.g. cyanoethylcyclohexane) is produced by reacting the ketone of formula I (R1 is alkyl; R2 is H or alkyl; R1 and R2 may together form a 5- or 6-membered carbon ring) (e.g. cyclohexanone) with acrylic acid or its derivative in the presence of ammonia water (preferably 5-40wt% concentration, and preferably about 0.001-0.2mol or 0.001-0.1mol of ammonia per 1mol of acrylic acid or its derivative) and a protonic acid (e.g. benzoic acid, acetic acid, and its amount is preferably 0.001-0.1mol per 1mol of ammonia). |
