PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. contg. an electron-donating color developing organic compd., a guanidine (deriv.) as color developer and a desensitizing agent, which is non toxic or has a low toxicity and retains consistent thermochromism for a long period. CONSTITUTION:The compsn. is prepd. by blending (A) electron donating color developing organic compd. (e.g. Crystale Violet lactone or 3,6-diethoxyfluorane), (B) color developer selected from among guanidine (deriv.) (e.g. methylguanidine or 1,3-diphenylguanidine) and (C) desensitizing agent selected from among alcohols, esters, ketones, ethers, acid amides, carboxylic acids and hydrocarbons (e.g. stearyl alcohol or palmitic acid). The compsn. develops or loses color by change of temp. and is useful as temp. indicator.
