<p>PURPOSE:To control accurately the tension of a rolling material to a target value by calculating a tension-feedback factor from a tension-feedback rate determined separately in accordance with the hardness of rolling material and performing a gain compensation by multiplying a control gain by the factor. CONSTITUTION:A looper 3 is disposed between the rolling mills 2a and 2b of a rolling material arranged respectively on the upstream and downstream sides. The tension of a rolling material 1 at a looper roll 3a is measured by a tension detector 12, and its signal is inputted to a gain adjuster 14 to determine a tension-feedback rate K0 in accordance with the hardness constant of material 1 including the temperature thereof. Further, the rate K0 is multiplied by a value obtained by dividing a rolling-material speed reference Vref by a tensile stress reference sigmaref, to calculate a tension-feedback factor K10, which is also multiplied by a control gain of the control system which uses a mill speed as a manipulated variable, to controllingly drive the mill 2a by a motor 4 through a tension control device 15 and a speed control device 6.</p> |
