PURPOSE:To bring the consecutive number of ''0s'' or ''1s'' to a value below a threshold value surely without adding excess code by correcting the original picture or sound if it is possible that the consecutive number of codes reaches the threshold value or over. CONSTITUTION:A signal such as picture or sound is converted into a digital signal of plural bits through an A/D converter 1 and converted into a signal of one bit each by a P/S converting circuit 2. These bits are applied to counters 51, 52 and when the code is ''0'' the counter 51 is cleared and when ''1'' the counter 52 is cleared. Thus, the counter 51 counts consecutive ''1s'' and the counter 2 counts consecutive ''0s''. The count value is compared with a predetermined threshold value by comparators 54, 55, and when the count value reaches the threshold value, the comparator 54 outputs ''0'' and the comparator 55 outputs ''1''. Then the consecutive number of the code is brought into a value below the threshold value by ANDing these outputs and the output of the converter 1. |
