PURPOSE:To sufficiently realize a pictorial picture and artificial picture by using either one of a picture formation using a density modulating method in correspondence to a reproduced picture or a picture formation using an analog method. CONSTITUTION:Respective signals R, G, and B are converted into density signals of cyan, magenta, and yellow by CMY converter 21, and are subjected to (r) conversion 22, base removal 23, and masking treatment 24 and then supplied to a multiplexer 26. The multiplexer 26 outputs data C3, M3, Y3, and BK3 to a density-voltage conversion circuit 29 when the analog method is selected by a selector switch 25, and C3, M3, Y3 to a head selective control circuit 28. When a dither method is selected by the switch 25, the multiplexer 26 outputs the data C3, M3, Y3, and BK3 to a dither treating circuit 30. As the method for forming a picture is changed in correspondence to the type of the picture signals, both pictorial picture and artificial picture are realized excellently. |
