NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R<1> is H, halogen or 1-3C alkyl; A and B are 1-3C alkylene; R<2> is H or 1-3C alkyl). EXAMPLE:N-[2-(2-Thienyl)ethyl]phenylacetamide. USE:A treating and preventing agent for ulcer of the stomach and duodenum. For example, the exemplified compound exhibits 50% inhibitory effect in 43mg/kg dose. PREPARATION:A reactive functional derivative, e.g. phenylacetyl chloride, of a phenylalkyl carboxylic acid expressed by formula II is reacted with an aminoalkylthiophene derivative expressed by formula III, e.g. 2-(2-aminoethyl)thiophene.
