PURPOSE:To provide the titled adhesive having improved tack, by adding an org. peroxide to a compsn. obtd. by blending a tackifying resin, etc. with a specified polymer mixture and melt-knealing the resulting mixture under heating to effect a reaction. CONSTITUTION:A hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive is obtd. by adding an org. peroxide such as dicumyl peroxide to a compsn. obtd. by blending a tackifying resin and optionally other components such as a softener with a polymer mixture mainly composed of a satd. type block copolymer rubber and a butyl rubber, and melt-kneading the resulting mixture under heating to effect a reaction. The satd. block copolymer rubber has an appropriate degree of reactivity in a radical reaction in the presence of the org. peroxide and forms a novel thermoplastic elastomer in a reaction in the presence of the radical degradation type butyl rubber. By reacting the org. peroxide with the compsn. contg. the tackifying resin, a pressure-sensitive adhesive having further improved tackiness can be obtd.
