PURPOSE:An undrawn yarn of a specific aromatic polyamide is coated with a fine powder of another aromatic polyamide melting at a temperature higher than the drawing temperature of the yarn, then subjected to flow drawing at elevated temperature to give the titled fiber which can be used in reinforcement, because of its good flexibility and high adhesion to rubber, without trouble in filament fusing. CONSTITUTION:An undrawn or semi-drawn yarn of the aromatic polyamide in which more than 80mol% of the recurring units is formula I (Ar1, Ar2 are aromatic residue of formulas II and III, which may be substituted with halogen and lower alkyl) is coated with a fine powder of an aromatic polyamide with a melting point higher than the yarn drawing temperature, then subjected to flow- drawing at >=300 deg.C to give the objective fiber.
