Peroxide complexes of group VIII metals, process for their preparation and their employment as oxidation reactants and catalysts

Peroxide complexes of group VIII metals, of general formula LnMXp(OOR), in which M is a group VIII metal, in particular cobalt, X an anionic group, for example carboxylate, R an alkyl, cycloalkyl or arylalkyl group, n = 1 or 2, p = 0 or 1 and n + p = 2. L represents a tridentate ligand of the 1,3-bis(2'-pyridylimino)isoindoline group. These complexes are obtained by reacting a hydroperoxide ROOH with a complex of formula LnMXp. These complexes are used in oxidation reactions of hydrocarbons in a mixture of alcohols and ketones, either as reactant or as catalyst.
